Joy Nash is an actress based out of Los Angeles. Fifteen years ago, while YouTube was still an infant, Nash posted “A Fat Rant.” The monologue garnered over a million reviews and inspired a lot of people to start living for today, no matter the skin they are in. As an actress you may also recognize her from Dietland (2018), Twin Peaks (2017), and The Mindy Project (2013). Nash’s resume also includes writer, voice talent, and volunteer with ‘A Place Called Home’ in Downtown LA. Their art, education, and wellness program for kids in South Los Angeles works to improve their economic conditions and lead healthy purposeful lives. Now currently located in Hawaii, Macias has been fortunate to surf some of the biggest waves in the world. Star2’s hope is to raise awareness for these issues and give back to those helping out. I Support the Girls is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting and collecting resources for homeless and impoverished women. Affirmations is an LGBTQ nonprofit centered in Michigan that provides resources for the LGBTQ+ community in Michigan and beyond. With this collaboration, the co-hosts wished to show ways to help women and LGBTQ outside of the music industry as well. As makeup was something she could do from home, it became the creative outlet and therapy she needed. The folk duo recently released their newest album, ‘Anthems of Home’ with singles ‘Our Words Will Be Louder’ and ‘Home is Bigger Than Us.’ The single ‘Our Words Will be Louder’ was inspired by the painful polarization around BLM in their own community. The duo put together a powerful music video to match the song and invited friends and local activists to join. Moksha and Jemal are also social activists and representatives for ONE, a non-profit organization working to end extreme poverty.
