Laura Vale - From Mental Health to the Big Screen

Always a lover of acting, Laura Vale has transitioned from being a therapist to being an actress over the years. Her understanding of mental health has given her insight into her characters own struggles to better help represent them on the screen. Her new film CULPRIT is a perfect example of that as it tackles what happens to those who are potentially wrongfully accused of committing a crime, pulling from stories from The Innocence Project. Please read on to learn more about Laura Vale.

Returning Home Naturally - The New Movement of Human Composting

As we and our loved ones age we ultimately have to come to terms with what to do at the end. I know I have aging parents, and I want to avoid thinking about this as much as possible, but I also want to do what they would be happiest with when that time comes. I always assumed there were two main options available — a cemetery or cremation. However, my mother has alway told me she just wants to be thrown out into nature, and my father tells me he wants a viking funeral… my parents might be a little extra… Anyway, I think both of these options are illegal these days. So, I was very interested to learn about Terramation or human composting. Personally, I think it fits perfectly with what my mom envisions, is really beautiful, and might be unique enough to pacify my father..

With our over crowded world, Terramation is not only the best for the resources we have, but it is the cleanest and actually gives back to our environment. Please read on to learn more about human composting from the caring company Return Home as we dig deep with their Director of Outreach, Nicole Steinberg.

If Mormons Can Embrace Pole Sport, Can’t We All?

I’m going to tell you a secret. Something that will shock you. Lean in… One of the biggest pole sport organizations in the United States, US Pole Sport Federation (USPSF) is run by Mormons, or  Latter-Day Saints (LDS), as I was informed they prefer to be called. Most of their board are LDS and the two winning senior women athletes are/were Mormons: Bryanna (Bree) Fernelius (senior women sport nationals champion, still currently Mormon) and Angela Nelson (senior women art national champion, ex Mormon). It is almost like the LDS want to take over pole dancing!!

Women in Music are Changing the Narrative

The Perfect Period With Menstrosan

Period panties have been a game changer for me. I absolutely love them and encourage all my lady friends to make the change! Not only are they at least one million times more comfortable than wearing a pad (or any of the other alternatives, in my humble opinion), but they have showed to reduce cramps, are so much better for the environment — sustainability for the win with not having to throw away tons of one time period products, they are much cheaper than having to buy pads every month — most panties can last for years with proper care, and they have gotten pretty cute! For once women don’t have to dread their time of the month!

Mourn, Feel, and Get Ready

What is done is done. I, like many others, don’t understand how this happened. I know we are tired, completely exhausted! We can, and should, mourn. We can, and should, be angry. But we will not roll over dead, we will use this anger, and we will come back stronger and more focused. We can have our own Project 202X. We can have our own plan. We are smart. And as women, we should take from this that no one, and I really mean men, will never come to our rescue. We are on our own, we can no longer fight among ourselves. We need to be a F*CKING PINK WAVE of Fury.

I’m With Her

I am an American woman and I have been increasingly terrified over the past two years. The loss of Roe vs Wade was the first gunshot wound, and it feels like the American women have been under rapid (AK47 level) attack since (and they are hitting a lot more than just an ear). While other countries are celebrating electing female presidents (good job Mexico!) the USA feels like we are going back to the Victorian Era.

Bees Elephant Sanctuary - Love At First Elephant

When you go to Thailand one of the first things you will notice is the depiction of elephants everywhere! They are on temples, flags, shirts, pants, and adorable statues around the country. They are clearly part of the Thai identity, but for as much as they are a symbol of Thailand the treatment of the actual animals in Thailand isn’t spectacular. Luckily for me, and the elephants, I was able to find and visit BEES Elephant Sanctuary, which holds nothing but love for the animals.
