Grace & Stella Makes The Perfect Spa Day!
As some of you may know, I have been in crazy competition mode. For some crazy reason all the big comps are back to back this year leaving my body crying for some self love. Other than massages and rolling my body out, I’m fairly notorious for neglecting self love. So, I was super excited when Grace & Stella reached out to me to try some of their products. Grace & Stella checks all the boxes! They are vegan, cruelty free, natural ingredients, paraben-free, and have tons of fun products that will leave your skin glowing.
For those in the crowd who are extreme athletes, maybe you are like me in that you just train till you die. Well, this happened to me. I basically died, or my body wanted to. It decided that it was over moving and it flatout refused to do anymore. Yes, I was mad at it and we had a few fights before I finally caved and agreed that I would not pole dance for three whole days. This is a big deal for me, I almost never take more than one rest day and I have two more competitions coming up!
What this did mean was that I needed something to do with myself. So, I put on a spa and board game day with my partner! Michael is also vegan and a huge fan of natural products, however he rivals me in his negligence of self care, particularly for his skin. However, I expect him to be pretty for me for a long time. So, I like to force him into spa days from time to time. We have tried a few different beauty products together, but I would say our Grace & Stella spa day has been the most fun to date!
Let’s dive into the products!
Our faces were already pretty clean so we just did a quick rinse, but we could have used the cleansing balm, which does a lovely job cleaning make-up and dirt off the face. However, we started with the dead sea mud mask, which is a “magical magnetic mask that pulls impurities and oil out of your pores” and is “packed with nourishing minerals, salts, and natural elements to boost moisture and purify pores.” I have forced a few face masks on Michael, but there is something special about using mud. It is just raw, and this one didn’t disappoint. Our faces were off to a great start after just doing the mask. They already felt hydrated and fresh. And who doesn’t love walking around with a green face for 15 minutes?
Our skin was already feeling pretty good, so we figured it would be a good time to put on the hyaluronic acid serum. The hyaluronic acid serum is created to add extra hydration to our skin and added to our glow. Since this product wasn’t specified for the eyes we felt the next step would be to use the if eyes could smile eye cream. As I have been getting older over all my face and skin have maintained a pretty healthy state, but I have noticed more lines and dark circles around my eyes. Ergo, I’m very passionate about a good eye cream and use one every night! The if eyes could smile eye cream is fabulous because it is all about combating puffiness, dark circles, and fine lines and wrinkles.
Now that our faces felt pretty hydrated it was time to use our new rose quartz gua sha tool. I personally have become a big fan of using a jade roller, using it every day. I will be now using both my jade roller and the Grace & Stella gua sha on the daily. Whether or not you believe in the Chinese medicine behind it, it is 100% true that it is a massage for the face and that will release much blocked tension and help you relax, which is better for your body no matter what. Massaging the face is so healthy to help relieve headaches, neck soreness, and stress. I’m a huge advocate of bring this practice into your daily lifestyle.
Ok, back to the eyes. As I’m passionate about keeping my eyes as youthful as possible I was most excited about trying Grace & Stella’s energy drink eye masks. These masks add a jolt of hydration to your eyes that help reduce dark circles and puffiness. We wore them for about 20 minutes to get the full effect. We found they kept wanting to slide down the face, but when placed correctly made for cute photos.
We finished off our spa day with a spritz of rose spray, to add to our skin fresh and hydration. This spray also helps with uneven skin tone, reducing redness, has anti-inflammatory properties, and maintains the skin’s pH balance. On top of all that, it smells really nice!
All in all, Michael and I had a lovely home spa day and will be booking another one soon! I certainly am particularly looking forward to using more of the dead sea mud mask, if eyes could smile eye cream, the gya sha, and the energy drink eye masks!
