New Orleans is known for many things, but unequivocally it is celebrated for its music. One cannot walk down its dusty streets without passing by some of the best Jazz in the world. So much of what our music has been over the years and today, comes from African American culture. Even today, with musicians like Childish Gambino and Beyonce, African Americans are on the forefront of socially relevant, progressive, and exciting pieces of art that will hold their own voice throughout history.
