Brooklynne Webb Wears The Crown

Brooklynne Webb is all about being your authentic self! This body positive Canadian is taking over TikTok (over 10M followers) with her fun dances and make-up looks. You can’t stop from smiling when you see her. And if that doesn’t have you curious, she has an awesome new song out now called “My Crown”, which you will want to make your new anthem. To learn more about Brooklynne and her work with Reading Across America, please read our exclusive interview below.

Where are you based?
I’m originally from Victoria, BC, Canada, but moved to Los Angeles, California in 2021.

You have a large following on TikTok and Instagram. What inspires your content creation on social media?
I get inspired by a lot of different things, but I love to create content because it allows me to express myself! No matter what mood I’m in, I can create and feel fulfilled.

Where do you draw confidence from?
I draw confidence from knowing who I am on the inside. Once you feel assured in exactly who you are and what you stand for, it allows your confidence to truly come from within.

As an outspoken advocate for body positivity and changes in modeling, what message do you hope viewers will take away from your advocacy?
I hope you take away the message that — as cheesy as it sounds — you are truly beautiful inside and out. Don’t ever let other peoples narrow opinions hold you back!

What is your dream content collaboration?
I actually lived one of my dream content collaborations with Abby Roberts! I have been following her since she started on TikTok and getting to have my makeup done by her was absolutely surreal.

Your recent single, “My Crown”, is based on your rise as an influencer and the negative comments you receive. You co-wrote the song with rising pop talents Jillian Rossi, Alec Zeilon, and Frawley. What was the songwriting process like?
The songwriting process was honestly so fun! Since the whole project was not meant to be taken too seriously, we just got to enjoy ourselves during the sessions. A lot of the process was just writing down lyrics until we found ones that made us giggle a bit.

"My Crown” also has a music video inspired by Mean Girls and Legally Blonde. Was this a fun music video to make?
The music video will forever be a core memory of mine! Getting to be on set with a lot of my closest friends and then seeing the video come together is one of the coolest things I’ve ever had happen.

Do you have more music coming out in the future?
I’m working on more music. I don’t want to say too much, but I can say that it definitely won’t be what you expect!

In the song you take the hate and criticism you receive and use it as a comedic twist. What are some of the ways you deal with negative comments?
I personally try not to internalize any negative comments online. A lot of the time, it’s really people projecting their own insecurities onto others, so it’s useless to put any energy there.

This year you have worked with Reading Across America to promote literacy and instill a lifelong love of reading in Aspire Public Schools TK-5 School students. How do you plan to help out?
I hope to keep reading to school students through this program for years to come. Reading was one of my favorite things to do all through middle and high school; so, I hope to share my passion with them!

You often boost messages on TikTok regarding people with disabilities, mental health, BLM, and Indigenous voices. How can followers best educate themselves on these issues? Why is it important for you to share these?
The best way to educate yourself is to simply listen. Keep an open mind and support these messages whenever you can. There is still so much that needs to change, and it all starts with educating yourself as well as the people around you.

What is #givingszn on TikTok? How can readers get involved?
#GivingSzn on TikTok connects creators and artists with non-profit organizations through the month of December so that we can raise awareness and help causes that we feel passionately about. This has also given the opportunity for us to share direct links to donate in our bios which goes straight to the organization of our choice. When you see a #GivingSzn opportunity, please consider supporting a cause that resonates with you.

How are you staying positive during the current wave of the pandemic and the new insanity of the world?
The first year of the pandemic was so hard for me and took a toll on my mental health. It’s been so much easier to stay positive now as the world is beginning to open back up again and we are adjusting to the new normal.

What does your “new normal” look like?
My life has completely changed since the pandemic. Like most creators, it really sparked my journey. I went from being a high school student in Canada to living my dream in Los Angeles! I’m honestly so grateful for this to be my new normal, and couldn’t see myself anywhere else.

What is your motto in life?
I am unapologetically me!
