Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue Event

Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue is a non-profit organization that helps rescue dogs, find loving homes, and foster care with an emphasis on sourcing from kill shelters at large numbers. These shelters targeted use inhumane ways to kill a dog, such as a gas chamber and heartstick.

Badass takes care of their dogs once rescued before the adoption process. They are vaccinated, spay/neutered, and treated for any illnesses. Once ready for adoption, they start with a fostering process, which allows the dogs to be familiar with humans and owners, plus they want to ensure the right match from start to finish. They provide a thorough adoption process with references, and a home visit.

Because a dog is listed on a kill list, doesn’t mean anything is wrong with them, and they are not fit to be adopted, but in fact the conditions and treatment from the shelter are the problem. Badass is saving these animals from hardships and an unfair ending to a long and loving life. Here are some articles for review of shelters that do not provide the best conditions for animals and leave them unable to be adopted. Not only are the conditions poor in these shelters, but the unreasonable amount of time shelters allow for the adoption process the animals is terrible. They are only given 18 hours before being placed on the kill list. It’s almost impossible for an animal to be adopted in just 18 hours

At Jejune Magazine, we are focusing the month of January for animal rights. We have another story coming out this month featuring the luxury of faux fur coats, and how you almost can’t tell the difference. Faux fur is luxe looking and you save from harming animals. Soon to come is a contest on our social media, Instagram, account, where everyone needs to send in their favorite pet picture. A pet is very important to one’s home, like a child, and are invaluable.

On November 8th, 2018, I went to the annual event in Brooklyn sponsored by Badass. $75.00 is entry fee, and it’s a really nice event, filled with food, raffles, music, drinks, and inspiring words from the Badass team. The room is filled with pet owners using Badass, and people are allowed to bring their dog to the event, as I captured above.

Badass has extensive services for the care of dogs. They are dedicated to a full and joyful life of dogs. They have a service for dog walking, pet sitting, and health advice. How, I came to know about Badass, although I am an owner of two cats. I have several friends that adopted from Badass, and they were extremely proud and pleased, and brought me to one of their events a couple years ago. Their philosophy stayed with me. To note, these dogs below were not adopted by my friends, but actual dogs adopted from Badass featured at the event. I am apparently a huge fan of their names.
