Wonder Woman Style Inspires My Styling

wonderwoman2.jpg

I grew up watching Wonder Woman on TV with Lynda Carter. Then Wonder Woman seemed like a fashion icon with her superhero outfit styled out with capes, skirts, and a swimsuit piece, which resembled a burkini. Wonder Woman’s wardrobe has evolved with variations from the start of the comic book in 1941 to present day.

Imagine a women superhero made into a movie to rival Superman, Batman, and Spiderman. We have a female action hero who demonstrates female power. Paradise island, where Diana (Wonder Woman) grew up, has only women who are strong physically and will fight to protect their island and way of life. In the movie featuring, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman—a movie I have waited decades to be made—Wonder Woman leaves Paradise to travel to Europe to help Steve Trevor fight the Germans in World War I as she battles the Greek God of War, Ares, to bring about peace. I cannot wait to see a sequel or even multiple sequels!

My article, “Style with a Cause,” depicts strong women and their sense of style. I used a red boot-like shoe that was inspired by Wonder Woman, and the model/story provides a tough look with a vinyl dress and a close look at model showcases.
