This article highlights 10 Runway shows for the Fall 2017 collections (New York City, London, Paris, and Milan) that embody a “female power,” give back or help the Earth.

Louis Vuitton

For the first time a runway show took place at the Louvre, a famous museum in the heart of Paris. Being at the Louvre, a place that represents a melting pot of cultures and “a place where there is no limit of culture, of nationality,” and sends “a strong message” says the designer, Nicolas Ghesquière on vogue.com. The Louvre is a place where no matter what your background is; everyone enjoys this museum and what it has to offer; we can all be one here, at the Louvre. I personally love this look that the following pictures from the show present. The styles show a slight punk rock with a sophisticated school girl look that has a vintage and ladylike edge. And, overall, the show higlights fur combinations, tailored jackets, and silk charmeuse dresses that show a vintage style to it. Nanette Lepore

A team of women put together this show that represents the stages from the designer to production to photographer; this is unusual for a production to have only women involved. Nanette’s team is a full force of women that made it happen and done in such a delightful way that I found, personally inspirational and beautiful. The style reflected a vintage look with it’s crushed velvet and textured tights layered with a mock neck lace top. Nanette always has an element of 1940's in her collection, here it continues this vibe with the leopard print and lace. 1940's for fashion is one of my favorite eras. It represents ladylike and stylish women and the beginning of Femme Fatale in moves, like Gilda with Rita Hayworth. Alexander McQueen

The designer created a sense of female power in some of the pieces. Women are stronger then ever and this collection showcases they are tough and ready to take on what is coming in a posh and expensive style. The Medieval and menswear inspired clothes, model selection with minimal makeup and tough fabric details as: leather, studs, and color palette of black gave a tough and strength inspired line. My favorite is the leather jacket with an exaggerated long belt paired with a sheer long skirt and studded boots. Another look is the long lace sheer top with a feathery hem detail that has a warrior effect to it. Lastly, there is a long lace top with a bias cut and ribbons dangling paired with men’s styled trouser pants. The long lace tunic tops, I can relate too, it's how I dress everyday and my whole wardrobe is dedicated to the color palette of black. Simone Rocha

The program notes mentioned the themes of peace and serenity. The collection itself was beautiful. Here are three of my favorites: (1) lace with its high neck long dress that has a Medieval witch style, (2) gingham button down shirt paired with a lace dress, giving a school girl vibe, and (3) an old hollywood feel with a touch of glamour and a hint of color with red flowers. I found this collection to be very versatile in a vintage style. Christian Dior

The way women were dressed in this collection conveyed a military style. Women are tackling the workforce and dressing in an exciting way. Many of the looks showed berets and combat styled boots reflecting a World War II era. Comme des Garcons

Balmain

The designer had an overall global, ethnic and peaceful vibe. I found this combination compelling and literally can’t stop viewing this collection. I love the fringe hanging on many of the pieces placed together with sprinkles of tie-dye patterns throughout the collection. The silhouettes range from body baring to long tunic style using various prints from all parts of the world. Dries Van Noten

The collection had a wide range of styles showing women’s individuality; women can express their personality through clothes. A women can be whomever she chooses today, there are no limitations. Chanel

This collection shows strong women preparing for the future. There is a mixture of classic Chanel tweed fabrics and elegant cuts paired with silver leather and silver/white go-go boots. I just love the whole concept of this show. Keeping the iconic tweed style jackets, and adding it with fresh and fast forward ahead futuristic vibe; sort of Chanel meets Barbarella. Marc Jacobs

The collection is a mixture of polished, vintage with a street culture and hip hop combination. Marc Jacobs, whom I would consider, high brow and expensive designs.
